Here's a review of the tale from the Bangor Daily News. I remember seeing Hiram hammering drift wood boards on the roof of his camp (It seemed to me to be more than a "hovel") in the early '50's when my Dad took me and my mother over to Cuxabexis, looking for arrowheads at low water. I'll always remember seeing Hiram up on his roof.
Click here for the contemporary story. Howard Collins lived in the camp just north of ours on the hill with his mother Alice, his father Nick, and his brother, Nicky. Both Howard and Nicky have been making it to our annual August picnic these last several years.
